in case you haven't noticed, I'm Back.

actually I'm still away from home but I was transferred to another work station, one that has an internet access. so no more prolonged blackouts.
I'm trying to catch up on all the notifications I've got over the last couple of months (1200+) so don't worry if I don't reply as quick as I should.

Thursday & Friday I'll be traveling back home so I'll be off.

as for the deviation, I found it on meh.ro, which I regularly follow.

I wonder how long would it take to actually have it built...

Construction started in 1936 or so and it was due to 1950.

That's Architecture!
I really like the Volkshalle's powerful design, it is proper to celebrate a great empire, it is perfect to glorify the country Germany was back then! :salute:

In my last trip to Germany, in July, our guides kept going on and on about how "ugly" and "grotesque" Third Reich architecture was. Like everything else that came out of their mouths, they were quite wrong.

That comment made me feel like puking. The Nazi architecture was wonderful. Dang anti-Nazi liars...

Of course if somebody hates NS and the Third Reich that's fine, as they're entitled to their own opinion. But it's silly when they want to color everything done by them as bad, just because they did it. If you had shown them a Nazi-era building and said "This is British. Churchill had it commissioned and he loved it." Then they would go on about how beautiful it was. And if you showed them a British building and said Speer did it, they'd say it was awful!
